Part 1: About TAPs
In order to help students make a successful transition from quarters to semesters, the College of Education and Human Ecology will require that all students that anticipate being present through the transition to semesters complete a Transitional Advising Plan (TAP) to ensure proper planning of degree requirements.
The TAP is essentially a degree projection that can be used for schedule planning and mapping out degree progress. The purpose of the TAP is to ensure that students are planning their schedule based upon the quarter/semester offering and prerequisites for each course that they have remaining up to, through, and after the semester conversion.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all prerequisites and degree requirements are met and that they are planning ahead for graduation. The TAP is not a contract and does not guarantee graduation as projected. Instead, the TAP is a tool to help guide students in schedule planning and progress toward graduation. To help facilitate this process we have provided information on this website about our College’s semester plans and course offerings.
All students transitioning to semesters will be required to complete a TAP. The College of EHE will be hosting TAP Transition Workshops to review student TAP forms prior to submission. The information this website will assist students in developing their individual plan.
In order to gain admittance into a Transition Workshop, students must:
- Sign up for a Transition Workshop,
- Review the contents of this website,
- Complete a TAP on their own, and
- Attend a Transition Workshop (students will not be admitted to a Transition Workshop without a completed TAP.)
